Do You Think You Are Happy, Or Do You Tell Yourself You Are Happy?

I can not begin to explain how much fun I'm having on this self exploration of personal development and prosperity. For so many years I feel as if I was just drifting and sort of ending up wherever I landed, then drifting again, and again. Perhaps I was but what I know now is that I am where I am and who I am as a direct result of where I intended to be. Each shining moment and dark circumstance I ever encountered was brought on essentially by my own doing or lack of doing. Science has learned so much about our minds, how much control we have over them and the predictability of our outcomes.

I have not only seen this proof through myself but with many friends, colleagues, and associates. It is not thought to be weird any more in society to step back for a moment and focus. There have been times when I have stopped what I was doing and grabbed hold between my eyes as if I had a headache, Aristocraft trains when I am simply putting my head down for a moment to collect my thoughts and focus. It is just a simple "time-out" which our minds need in order to catch up to our desired actions. People do not normally do these things only because they feel society would look at them funny. This is changing before our eyes, and it's exciting. If we exercised our minds and thoughts half as much as we exercise our bodies we would all be better off.

I have an exercise for each of you that I hope you will engage in. I can promise you that it is very simple and that you will see immediate results. I want you to grab a piece of paper and pen and jot down at the top of the page-Happiness. Below that I want you to draw a line down the middle creating essentially 2 columns. At the top of the left column I want you to write down-These make me Sad or Stressed. At the top of the right column I want you to write-Immediate action to remedy. Next I want you to go down the left side and write down everything that makes you feel sad or stressed, and you must be specific. For example do not just put down "being broke", rather put down "not enough money to take vacation".

Do you understand? Just go down the list and write down anything or everything that specifically gets you sad or stressed. When you have thought of everything that inhibits your feeling happy, I want you to move over to the right column and begin to write down immediate action steps you could do to alleviate its left column adversary. In this right column, be specific but don't try to have long winded solutions. The idea is to open your mind to a different rule or course of action to follow the next time a left column rival tries to bring you down.

Our minds simply follow the "rules" we have established over the years whenever a situation prevails. Our minds don't know any better. Your spouse is all over you and giving you a hard time for not doing something she asked you to do three or four times. Our minds go to our file of rules and dictate us to get mad or stressed over the situation. But, we begin to get smart and create a new file for our minds to access and we act by doing what was needed to be done the first time we were asked and eliminate the entire situation.

Let us realize that our minds are smarter than we even give it credit for, but it can be programmed any way we want it to. Brilliant, huh? You can utilize this exercise for every emotion you feel and do the same thing. Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if you really like what you see. Its time to exercise our minds because after we do, they will perform far better results in your life than you ever thought possible. Now go out there and make it the best day ever! .
