Signs of OCD - Find Out IF Your Loved Ones Manifest OCD Signs and Symptoms

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or what is more commonly known as simply OCD, is a neurological anxiety disorder which manifests through repetitive thoughts and behaviors. This disorder may have its roots from the genetic composition of a person, triggered by an imbalance of a neurotransmitter chemical in the brain called Serotin. Serotin serves are "messengers" or the brain, thus any imbalance or distortion in the Serotin will most likely lead to a brain malfunction.

Having an OCD is like experiencing your worst fear on a regular basis. All the things that make you feel horribly terrified are magnified in your mind, making you feel as if you have no escape or choice. To compensate, your mind would require you to do repetitive rituals or thoughts, Aristocraft trains which are better known as compulsions. Identifying whether a person is suffering from OCD is definitely the very first step one can take in order to save them from further sufferings. Here are some signs of OCD which you should be on a look out for:

* Exaggerated need for order or perfect symmetry - behaviors such as an obsession to arranging things based on color, size, shape or age, or the overwhelming need to place and arrange things exactly as it is forever!

* Obsessive need to clean and wash - the firm belief that things just get contaminated every after a few seconds, so excessive cleaning, scrubbing or washing to make everything immaculately clean!

* Excessive list making - the need to list down everything and anything, even though these things are of no substantial value to the person.

* Repetitive rituals - the routine of doing certain activities. The need to do the activity is not founded to any logical reason nor has no benefit of doing. These rituals include saying the same phrase over and over again, reading the same book for an eternity or doing an act routinely.

* Obsession to hoarding, shopping or saving - the inability to let go of trash, keeping of old and useless stuff such as newspapers, electric bills, cans, notes, etcetera. People who manifest this behavior would often feel guilt for letting go of the chance to have the object in hand, feeling that losing or discarding the item will only result to regret in the future.

There are so much more signs of OCD, since the manifestation of OCD have always been different in degree and in extent depending on the person suffering from it. However, what remains true for all cases is that, sufferers of OCD exhibit behaviors which are not common to everybody; the worry and anxiety they feel when they refuse to do the act is also something which is distinctly unique to OCD sufferers. If you happen to notice these behaviors in your friend or in a member of your family, you might be able to help them by convincing them to seek for professional help. That might be the only thing they need for them to enjoy the life that they are living.
